When you are a member of a church, you represent your congregation by the way that you behave outside of church, and by the way that you treat others. I am extremely disheartened by the behavior that Pastor Donny Emmons displayed at my stepfather's funeral. He behaved intentionally diabolically, while maintaining the ruse that he was performing acts of a devout Christian. He purposefully neglected a grieving widow and her children by isolating them and discriminating against them. I do not need to know his reasons for doing this, and I do not want to start an argument for why you think that my review is wrong. What I do know, is that this behavior was abhorrent. If Donny Emmons had issues with someone's "step" family, he should have left it out of the pulpit. A 15 year old lost his dad, and a preacher/man-of-god impeded on an innocent child's right to grieve in a safe, supportive, funeral setting. I am not here to accuse Donny Emmons of being a hypocrite, that is for prayer and the Bible to decide. I am here to voice the fact that a church authority did something wrong, and because I am an educated, compassionate, human-being and I will not keep quiet and accept that it was appropriate behavior.
